Learning & Apprenticeships

A better path for a career in education and business

Halifax Opportunities Trust has been providing nationally recognised work-based apprenticeships for over ten years. We specialise in the education sector, with courses in business administration, early years and teaching assistant professions.

We are currently working with a range of employers, including early years providers, primary and secondary schools, across West Yorkshire.

We help people and businesses grow

We work with learners and employers to provide quality apprenticeships in the specialised fields of Education and Business. HOT Learning delivers quality Apprenticeships for nationally recognised teaching assistant, early years and business administration qualifications.

Employers

Grow your workforce

Whether you are looking to support existing staff or would like to take on a new apprentice, to help them start their career journey, we will work with you to support your business growth needs.

Learners

Unlock Career Opportunities

Apprenticeships give you the freedom to learn, work and earn, in a career path that suits you. Learn your way with an apprenticeship. Gain qualifications while you work in a real work setting and gain experience, while earning a wage, from a real employer.

Why choose HOT Learning?

We are a well-established and highly regarded work-based learning provider throughout West Yorkshire and work with a range of employers to deliver specialist Apprenticeships. We are registered with the ESFA (Education & Skills Funding Agency) to deliver work-based apprenticeships.

  • Quality Delivery

Over the past few years we’ve refocused on our Apprenticeships offer and zoned in on how we deliver courses to our learners. This has helped us refine how training is carried out, the providers we use and the process of accreditation.

HOT apprenticeships follow the national standard set out by the government. Because we are local, we can offer high quality support and specialise in delivering training that is suited to individual needs; from theory to mentoring, hands-on practical learning to specialist HOT tutoring. Maintaining the Matirx Standard for over seven years is one of the ways we benchmark this, as well as being directly registered with OFSTED.

  • Local Service

We work with local employers, education bodies and suppliers to deliver apprenticeships across Calderdale and Kirklees. This means we are dedicated to working with local people and helping them find a match with local employers, offering work-based apprenticeships that suit both parties.

Our head office is based in the Centre of Halifax and we deliver Apprenticeships throughout the West Yorkshire area. This means that we are ideally positioned to support your ongoing training needs, whether an apprentice or an employer looking to build a skilled workforce.

  • Specialist Experience

Our growing team has experience in the fields of training, education and business, which makes us specialists in the courses we provide. This means we have an inherent understanding of the unique challenges, updates and developments in the industry or training landscape so we can keep Apprentices and Employers up-to-date with any changes that may have an impact.

  • SEN Training

Understanding SEN is now a big part of the school system and curriculum as more and more people are becoming employed as Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinators (SENCO) or related roles.

As part of our training offer, we are able to provide a CPD SEN course for those in the education industry. The course is in 12 modules, delivered throughout the year and covers various topics that are currently prevalent in education.

  • Social Value

Working with the Halifax Opportunities Trust (HOT) Learning team, as your preferred Apprenticeship provider, not only ensures you have a specialist, local and high-quality training partner but it supports your ongoing commitment to your CSR or ESG strategy.

We have a commitment to provide learning opportunities that build skills for life and employment, as part of our charitable objectives.

2022-2023 In Numbers

We create opportunities for people to learn their way, with work-based apprenticeships in education and business. In the past twelve months our apprenticeship completion rate has reached over 80%, that’s over 20% higher than the current national average.
