Students from Lightcliffe Academy in Halifax were be asked to pitch their own concept for the hotel of the future. The competition was part of the FutureJobs programme which aims to help young people aged 15+ understand more about the world of work and key employability skills for the growing sectors in Leeds City Region. The programme is part-funded by the European Social Fund.

Students took part in a range of workshops focusing on customer service and experience, budgeting and future technologies in leisure before coming together to devise their concept. Each team then pitched their idea to the panel of event management experts.

A total of 28 Year 12 Students from Lightcliffe Academy took part in the competition and our Business Centre Manager Jason Bell was happy to join the judging panel, he said ‘Students worked really hard and some of their concepts were exceptional!’
