The latest ‘Outstanding’ assessment brings total to 5 for Halifax Opportunities Trust.
Halifax Opportunities Trust has been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ assessment from OFSTED for Little Gems Preschool meaning that all five of the nurseries operated by the Trust are now classed as ‘Outstanding’ by the regulatory body.
The preschool, located at Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre in Halifax, provides 28 funded places for 2-3 year-olds and was inspected by OFSTED on 14th May 2018. The glowing report noted that: “Managers and staff are extremely passionate in their ambition to provide the best possible start for children.” In regards to the teaching at Little Gems, the OFSTED report claimed that: “Staff use the funds they receive to provide the highest quality teaching and learning experiences. Children who start nursery make exceptional progress in their learning.”
Sam Beevers, Manager of Little Gems said: “I am extremely proud of the team here at Little Gems, they have all worked so hard to gain the outstanding judgment, giving their absolute best every single day and providing a wonderful learning environment for the children.” Alison Haskins, CEO of Halifax Opportunities Trust added: “The judgement from OFSTED reflects the dedication, skill and care shown by everyone involved with preschool provision at the Trust.”
In addition to Little Gems Preschool, Halifax Opportunities Trust operates another 4 nurseries as part of their delivery of the children’s centres contract. The other 4 ‘Outstanding’ nurseries are located at Jubilee Children’s Centre in Halifax, Siddal Children’s Centre, Todmorden Children’s Centre and New Road Children’s Centre in Sowerby Bridge.
