Role: Receptionist/ administrator/ finance assistant

How long have you worked at Halifax Opportunities Trust?

I have worked for the trust since April 2009 (6 ½ years).

What does a typical day at work involve for you?

My job roles vary so I don’t really have a typical day at work. I work for the finance team on Mondays and Tuesdays. On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays I work at Hanson Lane reception in the mornings and admin for the Apprenticeships project in the afternoons.

Has your role changed since you joined us? 

I started working for the Trust as a part time receptionist in April 2009. In September 2010 I got a full time position as part time receptionist and part time administrator.  This year since May I have started working with the finance team on Mondays and Tuesdays and work at Hanson Lane on Weds, Thurs and Fridays (part time receptionist and part time admin) Whilst working at the trust I have gained the following qualifications:

Level 2 Customer Service

Level 3 Business Administration

Level 3 in Teaching

What are your interests outside of work?

My interests outside of work are mainly family oriented. I have a 3 year old daughter who I try and spend most of my time with as working full time and being a mother can be a challenge sometimes. I also like to spend time with my family and friends and go out and try new activities.

What’s the best thing about working for the Trust?

The trust is an amazingly friendly place to work and we all are very close and believe in helping each other whenever we can so that everything and every department runs smoothly. Equality and Diversity is at the heart of the trust and this is clearly shown. It’s a great place to work.
