Small Charities Week

077

Small Charity Week celebrates and raises awareness of the essential work of the UK’s small charity sector who make an invaluable contribution to the lives of millions of individuals, communities and causes across the UK and the rest of the world.

Small Charity Week is brought to you by the Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI), who with the support of partner organisations ensure the work of small charities is recognised and celebrated.

Halifax Opportunities Trust is a registered Charity.

The Charity was established in 2000 to continue some of the activities of the government funded West Central Halifax Partnership when it came to an end in 2002. Practically, our work involves helping people to find new or better jobs, to learn new skills, to start or grow businesses or to help raise their young families.

Historically the Trust was established to help create opportunities for people living in the Park Ward area of Halifax where the Charity had its ‘heart’. As time has gone on and the Charity has grown and strengthened and it has started to work in partnership with other local community groups and organisations in the wider Calderdale area sharing knowledge and skills with a view to making us and them stronger.
