Staying Well is a one year pilot project in 4 areas of Calderdale; North Halifax, Elland, Park ward and Hebden Bridge.
The project is funded by the Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group and aims to work with residents aged 55 and over to reduce loneliness and isolation and improve health and well-being.

I have worked in the community for many years as both a tutor and outreach worker. I am currently helping people who would like to be referred to Staying Well and delivering Basic English and Healthy Cooking Classes

My background is in community organising where I get people more involved in community life. I’m really excited to be working on this project working with older people so they can have more of a say on what goes on.

I have 9 years experience working with a wide range of communities in Calderdale. My role here in Park Ward Staying Well is to ensure the local community receives the activities they have expressed an interest in.

Our Staying Well Hub at Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre is opening in September 2015 were we will be hosting a variety of activities as decided by the local community.
