Our Staying Well Group based at Hanson Lane Enterprise Centre celebrated International Women’s Day by choosing to showcase their beautifully hand crafted quilt which they have been creating over the last few weeks. Each woman has added a piece to the quilt, hand appliqueing and stitching words and symbols that mean something to them.
The group have weekly sessions in their bespoke hub and meeting space at Hanson Lane. The quilt symbolises the joining together of each woman through the Staying Well project, which aims to alleviate loneliness and isolation in the Park Ward area. The quilt featured words in Arabic, English, Urdu and Gujarati.
They also brought a delicious selection of food for all to share in the celebrations. Our CEO Alison Haskins and Interim Marketing Manager Alex Beardsley also got involved adding some final stitches to the quilt. The Staying Well Hub was a buzz of activity and vibrancy, enjoyed by everyone.
