Are you from Halifax/Calderdale and unemployed, leaving school, currently looking for your next step? Whether seeking advice on a new career direction, further training, employment or simply want to learn more about the opportunities in the local area – the HOT Opportunities Event is for you!

Whether seeking careers advice, looking for learning opportunities, finding meaningful employment or sharing skills through volunteering, the event will guide you in the right direction and help to unlock the opportunities available to you right on your doorstep.
As a charity offering a broad range of services, Halifax Opportunities Trust (HOT) is in a unique position to be able to help people at most stages of their career, learning or employment journey. HOT has a great deal of experience in; helping people break down employability barriers, supporting learners with nationally recognised apprenticeship qualifications and building skills and experience through a range of volunteering opportunities. Something that the event will help to showcase.
The HOT Opportunities Event will take place at Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, where a number of teams from the Trust will provide information about the opportunities available, in:
- Early Years Roles
- Careers with HOT
- Employment at local organisations
Meet Local Employers
The event will also house an Employer Marketplace, set-up up to help you learn more about local organisations, the industries in which they operate and the career or learning opportunities they have available. A great way to meet potential employers in person and ask all those burning questions you have about the next step in your employment or learning journey.
The event is a great opportunity for you to learn more about the many areas of Halifax Opportunities Trust, our employment and development opportunities, as well as connect with local employers who are seeking candidates.
What should I expect?
Expect to learn a lot about the many employment, learning, volunteering and career development opportunities available through Halifax Opportunities Trust, across all areas of our work; from training and education to childcare and family support. We will also guide you through the roles in core functions such as finance, marketing and administration.
You’ll also hear from people who currently work at the Trust to learn more about the benefits of working for a charity, as well as the experience and skills you may gain.
