In December all HOT staff and EWIC tenants and visitors were invited to adorn their best Christmas jumper in aid of The Gathering Place’s Winter Shelter. Julie and Maria from our finance team organised a sponsored Christmas jumper day across the Trust as well as a bake sale in the Elsie Whiteley atrium.
In total Julie and Maria were able to donate £172.00 to the Winter Shelter in Halifax.
Christians Together Calderdale has run the winter homeless shelter (Inn Churches) in Halifax for four years since 2011. In 2015 the winter shelter project gave 52 people a bed during the coldest winter months of the year, out of those, they helped 49 into their own accommodation. This year, they opened on 4th January and the shelter will run until mid March.
